Supper Club v2.0 – Tues, Feb 9!

First off, it’s silly I didn’t take ANY pictures during the entire dinner to share with you.  Really bummed about this.  I think this calls for some re-thinking.  Obviously, it’s a great idea to take photos of all the dishes and lovely guests involved in each of the supper clubs.  Not only for fun, but as a way to document how well I progress over the months in terms of planning, execution, etc, etc.  So, do I charge a dinner guest with the task?  Invite an extra person to photograph in exchange for dinner as well?  What are your thoughts on this?  It’s obviously got to be low budget – but someone who actually knows what they’re doing with a camera would be helpful.

So, I don’t have any photos, but I do have a the menu.  Full account on the night to come in the next post!  Here we go!

Appetizer:  Baked Artichoke Dip served with toasted baguette slices (via 101 cookbooks)

Salad:  Vegan Caesar with Homemade Croutons  (via Veganomicon)

Soup:  Split Pea with Lemon Zest and Smoked Paprika (via 101 Cookbooks)

Entree:  Vegan/Gluten Free Vegetable Pot Pie with Purple Potatoes, Green Beans, Peas and Corn

Dessert:  Walnut Cake with Rasberry Jam and Fresh Whipped Cream (via smittenkitchen)

Supper Club Remodel!

Most likely, this will be the first time you’ve visited this blog, but it may not be the first time you’ve heard of or attended one of my supper clubs.  For 2010 we’re gonna get this sucker rollin and get more folks involved to come in and be a part of the supper club fun.  So, let’s say this is Supper Club v2.0!

So, what’s new this year?

I just started a Facebook page, so if you want to keep updated that way, join!  Also, this is open to anyone, so send your friends my way and have them join as well!

The pricing scale is going to change a bit – last year it was a flat $10 per person.  This year, as finances are a little tighter, each month it’ll be dependent upon the meal – and I promise you, this won’t exceed $20.  In fact, I promise it will rarely pass the $15 mark.  I’m not in this to make money – I just need to break even!

On the horizon – a separate group tentatively called ‘Treats Club’ that will be more a potluck style group, but will only involve desserts.  If this is something you are interested in, stay tuned, as I’ll probably make a separate e-mail list for this one!

So!  Keep your eyes peeled – I’ll be sending out an e-mail/Facebook message for our first Supper Club of 2010 very very soon!

and here we are

December’s supper club was a big winner.  Not only for attendance – this was held during Snowpacalypse 2008 and we still had four butts at the table – but for preparedness, smooth transitions and great company.  I can’t believe I made fresh ravioli… and they survived on their way to everyone’s plates.

Menu for 12/20:

Peppered water crackers with goat cheese & pickled beets

Fennel, Orange & Cranberry Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette

Pureed Mushroom Soup

Squash, Goat Cheese and Sage Ravioli with Hazelnut Butter Sauce

Flourless Dark Chocolate Cake with Spiced Red Wine Syrup

parting gift: Homemade Peppermint Patties
